THE MANDATE

The Chief Executive Officer (Town Clerk) is the accounting officer of the local authority and administers the affairs of the local authority and also coordinates the activities of the municipality.

The Office of Public relations resort under the CEO’s Office serving as a communication link between the Council, Management Committee, the departments of the Municipality and the public at large.

The department is responsible for diversified tasks varying from:

Human Resource; Town Planning and Property Administration; Office Support Services; Economic Development; Law Enforcement; Health and Sanitation Services; Fire Brigade; Civil Protection Services

Finance and Information Technology 

Mr. I.F. Gonteb Strategic Executive

The Department of Finance consists of two divisions, being revenue & procurement and collections.

This Department is responsible for financial administration of the Council and performs all accounting and related functions within the Council. It is aimed at strategic planning, programming, development of the department of finance and financial growth of the council as a whole.

Department of Infrastructure

The department is responsible for the provision of sustained services maintenance and cleaning of the town.

Tourist Bureau

The Tourism Office was relocated in the SME Centre in Nickey Iyambo Road.

The Tourist Bureau offers a wide range of information to visitors in the form of information booklets and pamphlets that explains the history, geology, ecology and archeology of many interesting sites in the desert environment in the north-western parts of the Erongo Region.
